Songwriting For Dummies

 I know, I know...

I wrote about a Dummies book last time - Business Plans For Dummies. But this is my blog, so deal with it.

This Dummies book is one NO songwriter should be without: Songwriting For Dummies.

Not only is it written in that wonderful, smart, informative, and funny Dummies style I love...

It's co-written by some guy named Jim Peterik - "Peter-ik." Name doesn't ring a bell? Well, he co-wrote the  super-smash-you-couldn't-get-away-from in 1982: Eye Of The Tiger, from Rocky 62. (Okay, was actually Rocky 3. Just felt like #62...)

From the moment you hear that hard, desert-dry crunchy intro, you're hooked. You want to run but you can't. Pretty soon your foot's tappin' and your fingers are tapping out a beat you can't resist.

His songwriting history is waaay too long to go into here, but the guy is more than qualified to write this book.

I'll make it easy on myself here (it's Saturday night, and I've had a lot of red wine)...but if you're serious about songwriting...you have to get this book. His book writing style is as straight-ahead as his song writing style. I can't recommend this highly enough.

Just picking this book up will make you smarter. You're no dummy. Plunk down your plastic and get this.

Check out the video. Jim's the keyboard player.
